This is a student intern position for a registred electrical engineering student and will be filled in New Orleans, LA - ideal candidate will reside in the New Orleans area to work in the summer of 2020 and potentially work intermittently during the school year.
JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
Supports the Distribution Asset Planning department and assigned Asset Planning Engineer by participating in the day to day activities of the group. Assignments are made for specific tasks based on the needs of the department, including data analysis, field data acquisition, general engineering tasks, analysis, updating of equipment databases, preparation of documents, spreadsheets, etc.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Supports the assigned Distribution Asset Planning engineering department with day to day tasks.
Comply with all safety requirements.
Conduct data and system analysis.
Prepare documents, spreadsheets, presentations, interoffice correspondence.
Conduct follow-ups in a detailed fashion.
Assist in the acquisition of field data as necessary.
Handle multiple assignments and work within deadlines.
Be proactive in addressing/forwarding work issues to the appropriate engineer/supervisor/manager.
Work in a team environment in both the engineering group and cross functionally in the larger organization.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Minimum education required of the position
Pursing undergrad or master's degree in Electrical engineering.
