Entergy has entered into an agreement to sell its Louisiana gas distribution business to Bernhard Capital Partners. The sale is expected to close in approximately the third quarter of 2025.  Entergy has no planned reduction in workforce as a result of this sale, and intends to operate the business as usual prior to the sale.  

 

Job Summary/Purpose

Manage and lead the daily activity of construction and maintenance personnel.

 

Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Instill, motivate and promote Safe Work practices and procedures throughout the work group. Ensure adherence to Entergy's Safety Policy by monitoring and enforcing safe work practices and establishing procedures to manage loss control risk.
  • Demonstrate leadership on ethics and values and inspires subordinates to consistently adhere to them. Develop and execute performance and productivity metrics for the workgroup. Develop and execute long range planning goals for the department. Direct the work of team members by providing ongoing operational guidance, performance feedback, coaching, and counseling. Establish training and developmental plans for team; review results of completed plans. Achieve operational and customer service excellence by setting and communicating aggressive performance expectations and measuring/monitoring performance levels. Manage/Monitor Contractors to insure safety, productivity, quality and cost metrics are met.
  • Manage/ Monitor O&M and Capital Spending to ensure budget targets are achieved. Effectively manage the business by monitoring, analyzing, and making sound financial decisions and uses data analysis and feedback to identify and achieve improvement.
  • Ensure restoration (repair and replacement of City streets and sidewalks) work driven by Construction & Maintenance workload is completed in a cost effective, quality and timely manner following completion of underground work. Ensure all (company and contractors) Construction and Maintenance restoration work is completed in accordance City or State ordinances/requirements. Work with external customers including governmental agencies to resolve conflicts, concerns and or complaints related to restoration and reliability activities.
  • Maintain strong and effective internal relationships with key internal customers including but not limited to customer service, customer relations, regulatory/governmental affairs, communications and other gas organizations.
  • Lead reliability team by ensuring reliability projects are identified and completed on time.

 

Minimum Requirements

Minimum education required of the position

  • Desired: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.

 

Minimum experience required of the position

  • Minimum 5 years supervisory experience or comparable leadership experience.
    • Desired: 8 plus years’ Gas Construction Experience

 

Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the position

  • Possess and demonstrate strong leadership qualities including an ability to set clear expectations, hold people accountable, communicate effectively, lead by example, reward and recognize successes and create an environment of motivated team members focused on achieving excellence in all aspects of the gas business.
  • Ability and willingness to serve on the Gas Storm Team as requested.
  • Ability and willingness to participate in Duty Rotation for Gas Emergencies.
  • Demonstrated effective leadership skills in previous role(s), including safety leadership, planning & organizing, motivation, change management, and effective HR management.
    • Desired:
      • Knowledge / Experience of Gas Distribution Business.
      • Knowledge / Experience of natural gas pipeline operation including underground construction and maintenance.
      • Knowledge of Federal and State Regulations - OPS/DOT Regulations /OSHA.
      • Knowledge of Company written Gas Standards and Procedures.
      • Knowledge / experience with Restoration activities difficult conditions.
