Job Summary:
Will work closely with the Director, Sustainability to implement sustainability-related initiatives that support the company’s objectives and benefit key stakeholders. The analyst’s primary responsibility will be collecting, analyzing and reporting sustainability-related data. Additional focus will be providing support to federal environmental policy engagement. Will assist in the continued evolution of Entergy’s sustainability vision, strategy and performance. Will also help coordinate and monitor team support for select sustainability-related initiatives led by other Entergy business functions as well as contribute to the company’s continuous improvement goals.
Key Job Duties & Responsibilities:
For Analyst II:
- Develop and maintain cross-functional relationships with key internal stakeholders in support of sustainability objectives, contributing to a culture of shared ownership of those objectives
- Serve as a primary contributor to sustainability reporting, including but not limited to external frameworks, surveys, standards and the company’s own public disclosure, including website, media and elsewhere
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of an increasingly robust repository of sustainability-related information subject to strong collection and disclosure controls
- Be responsible for collection and analysis of environmental performance metrics, including calculation of scope 1, 2 and 3 greenhouse gas emissions and verification, reporting and inventory of those metrics
- Develop reports and visualization tools to analyze metrics necessary for decision making and transparency
- Participate in work groups to support new and ongoing projects
- Support engagement on federal policy, including its impact on company plans, compliance and objectives
- Practice continuous learning on emerging sustainability-related risks and opportunities relevant to the company and industry
- Help drive employee actions on sustainability topics and initiatives
- Engage as needed with external stakeholders including industry groups, community partners, and customers
- Be available to work additional hours, work in alternate locations, and/or perform additional duties in connection with storms, outages, emergencies, and other situations as deemed necessary by the company
For Analyst III, in addition to the above:
- Maintain and refine sustainability reporting and disclosure practices, ensuring accuracy and timely data collection, analysis and reporting
- Develop and maintain documentation of processes, procedures and controls around data collection and management in alignment with company guidelines
- Serve as a content expert and compile, review and report on a broad spectrum of sustainability data, performance metrics, and associated narrative for internal and external communications
- Work closely with key internal stakeholders to map strategies supporting company’s climate commitments
- Maintain awareness of industry and peer trends, best practices, regulations, and other information relevant to stakeholder engagement on environmental and social issues
Minimum Requirements:
Minimum education needed
- Bachelor's degree in data analytics, environmental science, sustainability, engineering, a related field, or equivalent work experience; advanced degree is a plus
Minimum experience needed
- Analyst II: 2+ years of experience in data analytics, sustainability, environmental management, engineering or a related field
- Analyst III: 4+ years of experience in data analytics, sustainability, environmental management, engineering or a related field
Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities needed
For Analyst II:
- Demonstrated success in sustainability data collection, analysis and reporting
- Familiarity with relevant sustainability-related reporting frameworks as well as disclosure control practices and requirements
- Proficiency in environmental reporting, including greenhouse gas emissions, waste, water and associated metrics
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Outlook, Teams)
- Strong, demonstrated communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities
- Ability to operate within a corporate culture
For Analyst III, in addition to the above:
- Understanding of sustainability principles, frameworks, and best practices, in the electric power or energy industry is a plus
- Confidence in project management, problem-solving, analytical skills and cross functional collaboration
- Enthusiasm for identifying trends, gaps and opportunities and communicating insights, including translating complex information into understandable and actionable insight
- Understanding of federal environmental and related policies and regulations related to sustainability objectives
