Title: Tax Specialist Sr or Sr Lead
*** This position can be filled as a Tax Specialist Senior Lead or as a Tax Specialist Senior depending on experience and qualifications. ***
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties to include preparing and reviewing federal/state income tax and corporate franchise tax returns and/or state and local tax returns for Entergy and its subsidiaries. Additional work duties will include assessment of changes in tax law and development of plans to implement such changes. Position will need to work closely with federal and state tax counsel to implement planning strategies.
Qualifications:
Minimum education required of the position:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field or equivalent work experience.
Advanced degree preferred, Masters in Taxation or Accounting
Minimum Experience required of the position:
Tax Specialist Sr: 5+ years of work experience as a tax accountant
Tax Specialist Sr Lead: 6+ years of work experience as a tax accountant
Any certificates, licenses, etc. required for the position
Desired: CPA
Desired/Preferred experience:
5-10 Years’ experience, preferably in the utility industry
Strong overall computer and technology skills desired
Prior federal and state income tax preparation and review experience, including knowledge of processes.
Adept at using tax technology tools (Thomson Reuters OneSource, PowerPlan)
Ability and proficiency in Microsoft Office products (primarily Excel) and also Adobe Acrobat
Demonstrate strong interpersonal, oral and written communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to effectively use tax research tools
