JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
Conducts training for licensed, non-licensed operators, and shift technical advisors in reactor operations covering replacement, requalification, upgrade, etc., consistent with NRC (Nuclear Regulatory Commission) requirements. Develops and maintains operations training programs.

 

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Administers training programs to ensure the availability of qualified and licensed personnel.
  • Interfaces with line personnel to analyze performance needs and recommend appropriate training solutions.
  • Analyzes, designs, develops, implements, and evaluates training materials and programs using the systematic approach to training.
  • Administers and coordinates training programs for sites and corporate groups as assigned.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS


Minimum education required for the position

  • Desired: B.S. Degree in education, engineering, or related technical degree or equivalent.

Minimum experience required for the position

  • Instructor, Ops: At least 5 years of front-line experience and technical proficiency in the area of instruction.
  • Instructor, Ops Sr: Must meet one of the following: 12 years commercial nuclear plant experience; An SRO license or certification; B.S. Degree in a related field and at least three years of nuclear training experience or at least three years of experience teaching or developing curriculum in an education or academic environment.
  • Instructor, Ops Sr Staff: 5 years of nuclear plant experience (commercial or military) or a B.S. degree in education, engineering, or related technical degree or equivalent experience.
  • At least five years of experience in the associated line organization.
    • Desired: 3 years previously licensed as BWR SRO.

 

Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the position

  • Technical proficiency in the assigned area. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

 

Any certificates, licenses, etc. required for the position

  • Instructor, Ops or Sr: Desired: Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) license or certification on BWR, PWR or both.
  • Instructor Ops, Sr Staff: Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) license or certification on BWR, PWR or both.
