JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE

  • Responsible for design engineering modifications for projects at Entergy Nuclear plants.
     

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop engineering design modification packages in accordance with defined standards and procedures.
  • Ensure project modification designs maintain the plant design basis and represent the optimum design alternative.
  • Complete / revise engineering calculations in support of plant design modifications.
  • Deliver timely, constructible, economic and maintenance friendly modification designs in support of plant needs.
  • Coordinate project design engineering activities with plant departments to minimize plant and system downtime and maximize plant power generation. Interface with regulatory and industry representatives on behalf of project engineering.
  • Ensure fleet lessons are learned and good practices are implemented.
  • Serve on outage engineering support teams as assigned.  
  • Attend training and maintain qualifications necessary to perform required group functions.  
  • Act as design authority for the site.
  • Work closely with the Mgr, Project Engineering to oversee the development of drawings, specifications and designs for major project plant modifications.  Ensure project modfication designs maintain the plant design basis and represent the optimum design alternative.
     

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Minimum education required of the position 

  • B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering or other closely related scientific discipline / physical science generally associated with power plant operations, or equivalent work experience (equivalent experience is defined as demonstrated success at the Engineering.


 

Minimum experience required of the position

  • Engineering degree or equivalent.
  • Engineer I - 0 - 2 years experience in nuclear power design, operations, or equivalent, depending upon engineering level
  • Engineer II - 2 - 3 years experience in nuclear power design, operations, or equivalent, depending upon engineering level
  • Engineer III - 3 - 4 years experience in nuclear power design, operations, or equivalent, depending upon engineering level
  • Sr. Engineer - 4 - 5 years experience in nuclear design, operations, or equivalent, depending upon engineering level
  • Sr. Engineer Lead - 5 - 7 years experience in nuclear design, operations, or equivalent, depending upon engineering level
     

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position

  • Good to excellent communication skills. Experience / proficiency in PC use and applications, depending upon engineering level.
     

Any certificates, licenses, etc. required for the position

  • Desired: RO/SRO license or certification on a PWR or BWR; Professional Engineering license.

EEI Testing:
