Job Summary / Purpose

Support the Senior Manager, Nuclear Finance Business Partners as well as the site VP at Arkansas Nuclear One as needed by providing expert financial advice and information to support timely decision making.  Manage and develop plant analysts as they provide analytical support, financial forecasting, and relevant information to highlight key issues and to help identify items that may impact profitability.  Ensure financial controls administered throughout the organization to the extent identified in Entergy’s corporate policies.

 

The role will manage a team of employees to perform a range of financial functions, including overseeing, advising, communicating and reporting on capital and O&M budgets / related monitoring, providing financial analysis / accounting guidance for emergent / ongoing matters, advising on financial processes to ensure policy compliance and taking on special initiatives requested by functional leadership. This job is intended to establish a healthy cost culture and ensure cost accountability. The role will proactively manage issues and mitigate risks. The position also plays a key role in the regulatory process including providing data for rate cases, supporting testimony as necessary, etc.

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Act as primary liaison for function management and the finance/accounting function. Provide a single point of contact for financial and accounting guidance to both function management and employees. Work with accounting to provide input for recording unique transactions.

 

  • Provide financial support and advice to develop/manage capital/operating expense budgets, including 5-year/long-term forecasts, including all aspects of budgeting, forecasting and cost monitoring. Proactively advice on costs to identify opportunities to achieve greater efficiencies and support all aspects of capital project management.

 

  • Coordinate the development of financial analysis and/or business scenarios to evaluate and support the effect of day-to-day decisions on operational performance and investment decisions that align with long-term strategy. Facilitate the process for each decision being evaluated.

 

  • Know and assure functional area compliance with regulations under which Utilities operate: state public service/utility commissions, etc. Support all aspects of rate cases including providing data, writing / reviewing testimony, responding to RFI's and operational questions, preparing schedules, etc.

 

  • Act with fiduciary prudence in the best interest of the ratepayers and shareholders. Align the functional spending plans/strategies with business financial plans, evaluating functional impact as well as legal entity and ETR results. Develop management recommendations regarding strategy and timing of expenditures.

 

  • Assure all expenditures adhere to strict fiduciary guidelines including Sarbanes Oxley, etc. Execute SOX testing and provide necessary training to ensure consistency in processes and adherence to financial standards and policies. Also advise on capital and O&M determination, accruals, corrections, loader rates, establishing project codes including input on scope statements, function-specific accounting issues, time entry issues, etc. Proactively manage issues and mitigate risks.

 

Minimum Requirements: Education

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Mathematics or related field or equivalent experience.

MBA or advanced degree in Accounting preferred.

  

Minimum Requirements: Experience

6+ years of relevant experience. Experience in financial leadership roles is highly desired.

 

Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of GAAP, FERC and regulatory accounting. Interpersonal/leadership skills and ability to communicate externally and at all levels of the organization. Proficiency in PC Windows environment and ability to work with budget systems and financial models.  High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results orientation.

 

Minimum Requirements: Certifications / Licenses
