Job Title: Procurement Engineering Supervisor

Job Summary/Purpose

Ensure Procurement Engineering activities are performed in accordance with approved procedures and by procedurally qualified personnel. Coordinate with Supply Chain, Suppliers, and other external organizations as required for resolution of technical issues related to materials. Supervise personnel performance and resolve employee conflict or concerns. Interface with other Entergy sites to ensure standard fleet practices are being implemented. Candidate must meet or exceed commitments to ANSI Section 4.6.1 - Engineer In Charge requirements.

 

Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Oversee the performance of engineering functions on a group level to support the safe and efficient generation of electricity using nuclear power.
  • Manage engineering work assignments to ensure the group is responding appropriately to department and organizational needs.
  • Ensure all activities are performed within regulatory and procedural guidance. Interface with sites to implement best practices in a standardized approach.
  • Supervise personnel performance and resolve employee conflicts or concerns.
  • Monitor personnel and group effectiveness in achieving established goals. Control cost through maximization of staff productivity and tracking expenditures within budget parameters.
  • Function as a team leader, as needed. Act on behalf of leadership, as required.

 

Minimum Requirements

Minimum education required of the position

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or other scientific discipline generally associated with an operating nuclear power plant or equivalent work experience.

 

Minimum experience required of the position

  • Required: 5 years of experience in nuclear power design, construction, maintenance, operations, PS&O, or equivalent.
  • Desired: 3 years of experience at the supervisory level and 2 years of experience in the engineering department.

 

Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the position

  • Knowledge of nuclear plant technology, systems, and components. Ability to work with all disciplines (mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and controls), manufacturers and suppliers including contractors. Good problem solving and change management skills. Ability to plan, organize and prioritize work for timely and accurate completion. Communicates technical information, concepts, and ideas verbally and in writing.

 

ANSI Required: Yes

ANSI 3.1 – 1978:  4.6.1 Engineer in Charge. The engineer in charge of technical support shall have a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or the Physical Sciences and have 3 years of professional level experience in nuclear services, nuclear plant operation, or nuclear engineering, and the necessary overall nuclear background to determine when to call consultants and contractors for dealing with complex problems beyond the scope of owner-organization expertise.

 

Any certificates, licenses, etc. required of the position

  • Desired: SRO License or certification on a PWR or BWR and/or Professional Engineering License.
