Note: This is a hybrid position reporting to the office at least 3 days a week and can be based out of our offices in Little Rock, AR, Jackson, MS, New Orleans, LA, or Beaumont TX. Those outside the area would need to relocate for this role. Relocation assistance is not available for this posting. Selected candidates will be placed as a Poll Attachment Rep I, II, III, or Senior based on education, experience, and demonstrated success at competencies of the role. 

 

JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE:

The Pole Attachment Representative will assist in the: primary point of contact and liaison between Entergy and the management of potential third party attachers, managing engineering/inspection contractors, development of project specific scopes of work, and the tracking/reporting of project specific financials.  In addition, the PAR will support the Power Delivery organization’s requests including but not limited to permit requests, administration of pole attachment agreements, coordinating transfers and billing for emergency pole replacements for non-Entergy poles. The PAR will interface and partner with internal stakeholders including Distribution, Project Management, Construction Management, Legal, Engineering, Telecom, Supply Chain Representatives, Work Management, Customer Service Representatives, and Customer Accounting.  The PAR is also expected to actively participate in corporate, business unit, workgroup, and incident-management (i.e., storm recovery) initiatives as requested by the Supervisor of Pole Attachments. 

 
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain positive and open communications with joint use utilities and third-party attachment owners, responding to problems or concerns from the various cable TV, telephone, and other attaching companies.
  • Ensure billing, auditing, and collecting payments for the companies and organizations who attach their facilities to Entergy poles is complete.
  • Manage the field/engineering inspection process performed by internal engineering and contract engineering, including staying current on NESC requirements and guidelines.
  • Provide support for storms for designated storm role.
  • Execution and administration of pole attachment agreements with communication companies and governmental entities.
  • Report progress on collection of outstanding invoices to management and Miscellaneous Accounts Receivable.
  • Respond to data requests related to measures, benchmarking, and other reports.
  • Monitor and manage new attachment requests, including assignment of and follow-up on inspections to ensure that joint use and third-party attachments are installed in compliance with Joint Use/Pole Attachment Contract and applicable Code requirements.
  • Maintain the attachment database system (Varasset) for all additions and removals on Entergy poles in our service area and manage permit requests through NJUNS.
  • Coordinate transfer of attachments between Entergy and the companies or organizations who attach to our poles; ensure applicable make-ready contribution amounts are accurately calculated, billed, and collected.
  • Coordinate the billing and collection for emergency pole replacement for non-Entergy poles.
  • Educate operations and design groups as to changes in regulatory requirements and/or other pole attachment process issues; coordinate training and use of NJUNS system throughout operations and design groups.
  • Manage projects spanning among multiple jurisdictions.
  • Partner with internal and external customers to develop a good, working relationship to achieve a shared goal.
  • Create and maintain a working relationship with Customer Accounting, Legal, Engineering, Customer Service, Operations, and Work Management.

 

Minimum Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent work experience.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in project management or business administration

  • Pole Attachment Representative, I: 0+ years of professional experience
  • Pole Attachment Representative, II: 2+ years of professional experience.
  • Pole Attachment Representative, III: 4+ years of professional experience.
  • Pole Attachment Representative, Sr:  6+ years of professional experience.

 

Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the position:

    •  
  • History of safe performance, active safety involvement and participation and strong desire for a safer workplace.
  • Excellent negotiation, interpersonal & group communication skills.
  • Strong planning\organization\time management skills.
  • Excellent computer skills and proficient in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel & Outlook, Power Point).
  • Understanding of pole attachment regulations and its applications.
  • Ability to work with multiple levels of organizational structure.
  • Willingness to take the initiative on projects and issues that arise.
  • Show leadership within work groups by training others, having strong leadership skills, serve as mentors/leads to other on pole attachment team.
  • Flexible and able to adjust to changing and demanding customer needs.
  • Preferred:
    • Training or education in leadership, project management, joint use, utility coordination, interpersonal communications, and conflict resolution.
    • Knowledge of Maximo, PeopleSoft Financials, CCS, NJUNS and Varasset
