Job Title: Team Leader, Plant Assets - Power Generation

JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE:

Manages a team of technical professionals working in a cross-functional multi-craft, multi-skilled environment at a natural gas fueled supercritical power plant where safety at the forefront of everything we do. This position reports directly to the Plant Manager and is responsible for performance management, behavior management, professional development, and continuous improvement of their team. This Team Leader and their direct reports are responsible for the plant’s engineering programs, out-year project development, project /oversight/execution, and predictive maintenance programs. This team champions assignments in risk management, compliance, financial planning, as well as supporting other power plant needs.

 

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides leadership for engineers, planners, and technical specialists regarding the safe, effective, efficient, and timeliness of all assigned work and responsibilities.
  • Maximize team performance while keeping alignment with Entergy’s business objectives, expectations of employment, process, procedures, and best practices.
  • Hire personnel as needed based on the available headcount within the assigned direct reports.
  • Maintains and upholds quality, standards, and compliance with all company, state, and federal requirements (OSHA, NERC, EPA, State DEQ's, SOX, etc.)
  • Financial management and reporting for assigned budgets in accordance with all guidelines, programs, and regulatory compliance.
  • Prepares and manages budget in assigned areas that minimizes deviations from the approved annual budget.
  • Manages and supports the 5-year project plans and portfolio for the plant. This includes assigning project managers in alignment with the plant’s work management strategy and timelines.
  • Supports all outages, emergencies, and severe weather preparation/response as per policies/procedures/guidelines.
  • Write and manage contracts for assigned projects and other areas of responsibility.
  • Initiates and provides leadership in respect to contract management/contractor oversight for routine and outage work or the delegation of these to direct reports when appropriate.
  • Develops procedures, checklists, and performance measures as needed to drive high standard performance and best practices.
  • Develops and maintains strong relationships with internal and external interfaces and key strategic alliance partners. 
  • Initiates and provides leadership in respect to contract management/contractor oversight for routine and outage work.
  • Provide effective professional support in all other tasks, assignments, and/or initiatives when assigned by leadership.
