JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE:

The Business Operations & Strategy analyst will be part of a team which executes Entergy Texas’ business strategy and plans long-term resources to serve its customers.  The analyst will leverage studies and analysis from company SMEs, perform independent data analyses, and provide leadership on key initiatives under the general supervision of management.

 

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support Entergy Texas, Inc.’s (ETI) generation, transmission, and operations activities, including participation in MISO (Midcontinent Independent System Operator) committees and working groups
  • Lead the development of ETI's long-term resource plan, considering factors such as cost, risk, reliability, and sustainability
  • Lead ETI's Strategic Resource Plan (SRP) process
  • Support ETI's Request for Proposal (RFP) processes for new generation resources
  • Develop responses to customer data requests and support customer engagement on sustainability partnerships to drive development of innovative offerings to meet customer needs and drive value for ETI
  • Prepare regulatory filings and support witness testimony, including preparation of workpapers and exhibits, on matters related to resource planning, customer programs, transmission projects, and fuel reconciliations
  • Research assigned projects, document sources, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
  • Perform data analysis, trend analysis, and statistical analysis on large data sets and draw conclusions from analyses
  • Provide industry expertise and apply best practices to assigned projects
  • Develop and streamline processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness in alignment with ETI’s priority of continuous improvement
  • Assist in the development and delivery of presentations for executive management
  • Interact with leadership across the organization to understand analysis needs and develop work plans
  • Represent ETI to external stakeholders for ad hoc projects, and in conferences or other offsite meetings
  • Support other ETI initiatives as needed, including storm restoration duties

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or business-related field required

 

Experience:

  • At least 6+ years of relevant professional experience

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Advanced analytical skill set with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Understanding of utility operations, regulatory processes, and emerging technologies is a plus
  • RTO experience and knowledge of utility accounting is a plus
