Job Summary:

 

The Director of Cloud Services will lead the company's cloud computing strategy and implementation, leveraging deep platform experience to drive enterprise-wide digital transformation. This IT leadership role is responsible for establishing cloud architecture standards, governing cloud adoption, and ensuring optimal cloud operations across the organization. This position will ensure cloud services effectively support both general enterprise needs and specialized computing requirements for business functions around the company that leverage cloud technologies.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Strategic Leadership

  • Drive enterprise cloud strategy development and execution, aligned with business objectives
  • Lead the design and implementation of cloud architecture standards across the organization
  • Establish and maintain comprehensive cloud governance frameworks
  • Develop and execute technology roadmaps for enterprise-wide cloud services
  • Serve as the key strategic advisor to business leadership on cloud transformation opportunities

 

Cloud Operations & Management

  • Oversee enterprise-wide cloud platform operations and service delivery
  • Establish and enforce cloud cost management controls and optimization practices
  • Implement and maintain FinOps practices across all cloud environments
  • Drive the assessment, selection, and deployment of cloud platforms and services
  • Ensure cloud environments meet performance, availability, and scaling requirements
  • Maintain security compliance with policies, laws, and regulatory requirements

 

Service Delivery & Innovation

  • Champion the implementation of modern cloud delivery models including DevSecOps and CI/CD
  • Drive cloud-first approaches to application development and modernization
  • Lead cloud migration strategies and execution for legacy applications
  • Ensure cloud architecture supports specialized workloads including AI/ML platforms
  • Establish standards for cloud service measurement and quality improvement

 

Partnership & Governance

  • Partner with Cyber Security, the Chief Security Office, Artificial Intelligence and Internal Audit teams
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify and prioritize cloud migration opportunities
  • Represent cloud services as part of the IT leadership team
  • Build strategic relationships with cloud service providers
  • Lead enterprise-level initiatives related to cloud transformation

 

Minimum Requirements:

 

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, IT, or related field
  • Advanced Degree preferred (Master's or Doctorate)

 

Experience

  • 8+ years of IT leadership experience, with significant exposure to cloud computing
  • Experience managing enterprise-scale cloud platforms and services
  • Track record of successful large-scale digital transformation initiatives
  • Background in platform operations and service delivery

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Deep expertise in major public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
  • Strong understanding of cloud architecture, security, and cost optimization
  • Experience with cloud governance and operational excellence frameworks
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead enterprise-level initiatives
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

 

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with AI/ML platforms and high-performance computing environments
  • Cloud architecture certifications (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • ITIL certification or equivalent experience
  • Experience with FinOps practices and cloud cost optimization
  • Background in DevSecOps and modern delivery practices
