JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE:

This System Planning Organization (SPO) Project Manager position is responsible for providing group leadership and

project management, often requiring the coordination of team members within and outside the planning organization,

to optimize generation and/or load asset solicitations or unsolicited offers, internal approval of transactions or other

project assigned by management and ensures that the organization accomplishes strategic objectives. This position

may also support the development and reporting of strategic business plans or other strategic projects requiring

project management leadership and guidance throughout the System Planning Organization (SPO).

 

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide strategic leadership of project teams to manage traditional or renewable generation asset

transactions, including requests for information (RFI) and/or requests for proposals (RFP) development and

execution, independent monitor or consultant engagement, and internal approval of transactions resulting

from the execution of Entergy's business strategies. Other projects are determined on a case-by-case basis

by management.

  • Strategically assess, plan, oversee, and coordinate resource requirements, technology utilization, team

structure, detailed activities, and milestones associated with assigned projects including, developing and

updating detailed project schedules, managing project team development and protocol training,

confidentiality agreement execution, document development and management, process requirements and

team coordination, compilation of combined team findings into management reports and/or presentations,

support the negotiation and execution of contracts and/or acquisitions, coordination of document

development for internal approvals from the Office of Corporate Risk to Board approval (commercial

transaction or otherwise assigned), and responding to requests for information in support of the regulatory

approval process.

  • The position will interface with key stakeholders inside and outside Entergy, and could include Entergy

senior management, accounting, credit, fossil, transmission, regulatory and commercial legal counsel,

outside engineering firms, independent monitors, and commercial counterparties.

  • Position will be assigned additional responsibilities depending organizational needs which may include

coordination and reporting of performance metrics, MISO commercial modeling, market research, project

budget development, and/or performance improvement initiatives. Therefore, this position will require

staying abreast of potential changes in law, technology advancements, MISO rules, and accounting issues

that could impact market risk, management strategies, or MISO commercial modeling. Position is expected

to provide thought leadership, analytically look at situations and data, and look for ways to improve the

organization.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

 

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent work experience
  • Preferred: Master's Degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting

 

Minimum Experience:

  • At least 7 years of related work experience

 

Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong organizational skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Ability to positively coordinate teams and build consensus
  • Good strategic judgement and analytical capabilities
  • Attention to details and ability to develop comprehensive documents with various tools (including Outlook,
  • Word, Vizio, PowerPoint, Excel, Microsoft Project, etc.)
  • Proactive approach to work management with the initiative to interact with others to solve problems

 

  • Preferred:
    • Utility experience
    • Budgeting experience
    • Microsoft Project proficiency

 

Any Certificates, Licenses, etc.:

  • Preferred: PMP, PMI-ACP, CAPM, CSM and/or MPM
