Entergy’s Transmission Department is looking to hire two students that are pursuing an Electrical, Mechanical and/or Civil Engineering degree. The ideal candidates are those who will be classified as a rising junior, senior or beyondl effective June 1,2026.  

 

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

 

Assisting engineers in day to day activities including, but not limited to:

 

  • Performing project scoping and site visits
  • Review of Transmission Lines and substations projects progress
  • Preparing operational one-line drawings
  • Management of infrastructure health ranking and develop plans to mitigate risks
  • Creation of a more detailed model used to improve capital prioritization, substations rankings and health assessment
  • Validate estimating prices and equipment units, ensuring material is properly ordered and staged for upcoming projects
  • Managing projects that are in construction
  • Completion of as-built documentation
  • Participate in weekly planning coordination calls
  • Work on special projects to assist in improving grid reliability
  • Responding to equipment failures
  • NERC Clearance Remediation
  • Transmission Line database management
  • Support of Business Analyst processes within Project Controls through data mining and reporting, as well as performing a wide variety of detailed engineering analysis in transmission-related areas such as planning, economic analysis, maintenance, design, project management and construction, and operations
  • Travel is required for the position

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

 

Minimum Education Requirements

 

  • Seeking Electrical, Mechanical, and Civil engineering majors to work full time during the designated semesters.
  • Must be currently/actively enrolled in school full-time, pursuing a bachelor’s degree as indicated above
    • Preferred: Candidates classified as a sophmore, junior, or graduate student (classification at the time of hire)
  • Candidates must have a cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher (on a 4.0 scale).

 

Preferred knowledge, skills, and abilities

 

  • Coding and project management skills is preferred
  • PMP certification and EIT
