JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE:

Provides support and demonstrates a knowledge in the engineering discipline. Participates and supports in key planning activities, technical work including diagrams, templates, and drawings that support the work of the department, as well as deliverables that help achieve the goal of establishing utility scale renewable assets for the company.

 

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supports where applicable, conceptual design for new PV solar and energy storage utility scale projects
  • Supports the research, evaluation, and selection of system components including panels, inverters, racking, batteries, battery management systems, and grid interconnection
  • Work with team around construction system one line diagrams and conceptual site drawings
  • Supports project team, construction, and start-up on as needed basis
  • Provides support to the Technology assessment and shares technical knowledge by partnerships with the responsible parties in the BU
  • Participate in business unit meetings where applicable.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum education required of the position:

  • Working towards achieving a Bachelors Degree in an Engineering Discipline (3rd year or 4th year student preferred)

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position:

  • Knowledge of engineering fundamentals
  • Critical Thinking -- Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
  • Problem Solving -- Identifying problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Interest in renewable technology and utility operations
