Responsibilities
Selected intern will provide a range of market and technical analyses to support the Entergy Operating Companies in the formulation of generation portfolio strategies and the evaluation of specific generation supply alternatives and transactions to achieve strategic objectives; Support related corporate investment approval processes and regulatory processes (e.g., certification hearings). Responsibilities also include performing assessments of power market conditions relevant to the utilities’ market strategy.
Studies performed will be to support the various initiatives underway that will ultimately impact Entergy’s customers.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or Master's degree program on an accredited college/university. Preference may be given for degrees in Engineering, Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field.
- Candidates must have a cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher (on a 4.0 scale).
- Final offer will be based on the experiences and qualifications of the preferred candidate.
- The ideal candidate will have good analytical skills, will be a self-starter, and will exhibit a commitment to the quality of his/her work.
- This person will be able to work independently and manage his/her time successfully across multiple projects.
- This person should have solid spreadsheet skills and should be a good communicator (both verbal and written).
- Other desirable skills and experience includes database skills (incl. financial reconciliation and/or trend analysis), automation, knowledge of utility accounting, and utility system operations and/or regulatory processes.
- Proficient in the use of a PC with the Microsoft Office application package.
