Job Summary/Purpose
This job is responsible for management and oversight of various stages of capital project development and execution for major projects, for the generation fleet including planning, design, permitting, construction, and operational implementation, and start-up. Responsibilities include delivering the projects safely, while meeting schedule and budget commitments. This position will report into OS&G’s Asset Strategy and Operations group and be a member of the leadership team.
The position will build an organization with expertise and resources to accomplish the right level of oversight and management of future large scale capital projects including self-build renewable assets assigned to the OS&G organization.
Incumbent is a bona fide leader and a strong advocate for the partnering process with key stakeholders including internal/external support groups across Entergy and contractors. This individual is responsible for both the leadership needs of his/her own team, technology understanding and experience, along with building an effective relationship with key individuals internally with Entergy, and Externally where applicable.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Develops a powerful project execution team that is totally focused on delivering power generation projects.
- Understands the requirements and contributions of critical team positions and that of the key stakeholders.
Supports the Utility in the project development process when requested. - Manages the execution of the project vision and execution philosophy, along with deliverables necessary to progress a project through the Stage Gate Process.
- Utilizes Commercial Expertise to consult on commercial agreements and delivers successfully negotiated contracts with the partnership of key stakeholders through project execution.
- Develops critical relationships with key stakeholders that allows incumbents to work systematically and integrate projects with the wider Entergy.
- Full understanding of the contractual aspects of projects and the need to support the creation of a contracting strategy that delivers superior economic performance and that can be executed safely, with high quality while delivering cost and schedule certainty.
- Constantly works effectively to negotiate and resolve contract challenges. Utilizes their relationship with Supply Chain to ensure the effective development of projects.
- When requested or required, works closely the regulatory functions to support the requirement of receiving the necessary certifications, including providing written and verbal testimony before the commissions.
- When requested or required, works closely with SME’s across ENT Power Generation Environmental to determine permitting requirements and obtain the necessary permits.
- Works closely with the Power Development team, Power Generation, and other groups within Capital Projects.
Minimum Requirements
Minimum education required of the position
- B.S. in Engineering discipline, Construction Management or applicable course of study.
- MBA or other advanced degree strongly preferred.
