Entergy’s Power Generation group operates a fleet of 28 active natural gas, coal, oil, hydroelectric and solar facilities with the capacity to generate nearly 17,000 megawatts and is building or acquiring more than 3,000 megawatts of new natural gas generation to join its 30,000 megawatts of nuclear, natural gas, coal, oil, hydroelectric and solar facilities.


Our Plant Introductions: 


St. Charles Power Station: 

Built near New Orleans, Louisiana, the 980-megawatt St. Charles Power Station started commercial operation in May 2019.


Lake Charles Power Station: 

Being built near Lake Charles, Louisiana, the 994-megawatt Lake Charles Power Station is scheduled to start commercial operation in early 2020.


Montgomery County Power Station: 

Being built north of Houston, Texas, the 993-megawatt Montgomery County Power Station is scheduled to start commercial operation in early 2019.


Provide leadership, accountability and oversight for all activities associated with environmental programs for the fossil-fuel and renewable Power Generation fleet.


  • Oversight and accountability for all facets of environmental compliance with Federal and State Environmental Regulations for the Power Generation fleet which consisting of 29 actively operating hydro, coal, steam and combined cycle gas turbine power plants with a combined capacity of ~19,000MW located within Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas, and Texas plus additional de-commissioned units and units under construction.  
  • This position currently manages and develops, either directly or indirectly, more than 30 environmental professionals with responsibility for Power Generation environmental compliance programs including, but not limited to, Safety, Health, and Environmental Management System (SHEMS) audit process; New Source Review (NSR) Program; Spill Prevention, Control & Countermeasure (SPCC); and CEMS Relative Accuracy Test Audit (RATA) and Emissions Compliance Testing. In addition, environmental expertise is also provided in support of other segments of the company, as needed.
  • Oversight and accountability for performance management process for all environmental professionals that focuses on evaluating employee results and behaviors and sets a clear performance bar necessary to achieve environmental compliance excellence in alignment with PG Business Strategy.
  • Oversight and accountability for driving continuous improvement and sustained environmental performance and compliance in alignment with the PG Business Plan Pillars and Excellence Model.
  • Conformance and alignment with Entergy’s Corporate Environmental Management System as implemented by Entergy’s Sustainability and Environmental Policy Group.
  • Oversight and accountability for the environmental processes that supports the construction or acquisition of new fossil-fueled and renewable generation.  This is a key driver of Entergy’s overall growth strategy. Provide environmental due diligence, permitting and construction compliance support for new generation construction projects and acquisitions consistent with meeting all project schedule and budget requirements.  Power Generation’s current new generation portfolio consists of three large CCGT plants, one reciprocating engine plant, and three simple cycle combustion turbine units. 
  • Responsible and accountable for ensuring that all environmental requirements are met during new generation unit commissioning and operational readiness reviews are met according to schedule.
  • Lead all environmental compliance, training support programs for the Power Generation fleet to meet requirements based on a clear understanding of environmental regulatory requirements, both Federal and State, applicable to electric utility industry.
  • Monitor State and Federal environmental regulatory developments and influence outcome of rules. Interface with Entergy’s Sustainability and Environmental Policy (SEP) and Governmental Affairs organizations and provide analysis and input on environmental related legislative bills and their projected effect on fossil–fuel and renewable Power Generation facilities.
  • Develop and successfully implement compliance strategy and plans for emerging environmental regulations affecting the Power Generation fleet. Responsible for implementation of the agreed upon compliance strategy by cohesive engagement of all stakeholders.
  • Management and control of the O&M budget to support environmental programs for the Power Generation fleet.


Minimum education required of the position
BS degree required in engineering or physical science or equivalent work experience. Masters preferred.

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position

Possess a clear understanding of environmental regulatory requirements, both Federal and State.

Prefer candidate with prior experience in Power Generation operations who also has prior management experience.
