JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Under general supervision, must be willing and able to perform work in the field or office, requiring knowledge of practical engineering and surveying methods, make working drawings and designs, make computations of a technical character with responsibility for the accuracy of same, and demonstrate ability to do the following and related work as required in the department to which he/she is assigned:
1. Perform land base updates: Cad/DXF to AM/FM GIS system, and updating existing land base.
2. Demonstrate a working knowledge of, and ability to perform data maintenance functions in AutoCAD, AM/FM, Data Maintenance, Outage Management, DFM (excluding and DIS computer programs or their successor, ArcGis as well as a working knowledge of power distribution systems.
3. Coordinate the conversion of existing data and/or field walk down data into AM/FM GIS.
4. Capable of resolving all conflicts with data in AM/FM after conversion.
5. Conduct and/or assist with special projects as directed.
6. Provide reports (mismatch, load study, etc.) which relate to AM/FM GIS
7. Maintain Operations maps.
8. Supply maps to company and/or contractor personnel as directed.
9. Instruct and develop other company personnel to work within the AM/FM system.
10. Insure consistency in the use of AM/FM system standards.
11. Check working drawings and fabrication details.
12. Keep work records and prepare reports from AM/FM system.
13. Inspect work to see that specifications are complied with.
14. Direct work of others when authorized.
15. Assist with circuit reconfigurations during switching activities in the AM/FM or Outage Maintenance systems.
16. Capable of operating the breakers in the Outage Management system to reflect real time operations.
17. Add annotation to the land base in difficult areas as requested.
18. Coordinate problem resolution for Outage Management program (bugs, enhancements).
19. Correct feeder number problems for converted and non-converted areas in AM/FM GIS.
20. Assist with operating the OM system during storm situations (normal hours and call-out).
21. Provide guidance, mentorship, and oversight to less experienced GIS Associates.
Senior GIS Assistant
EXPERIENCE AND SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Must meet all qualifications of GIS Assistant and one of the following:
Four years field operations experience (Transmission Line or Substation, Distribution Line or Service, Field Metering, or Storeroom) and worked 3 years as a GIS Assistant, OR
Must have qualified and worked 4 years as a GIS Assistant, OR
Successful completion of Entergy’s Technical Personal Development Program (TPDP) and worked 3 years as an GIS Assistant, OR
Must possess a 2 Year Technical Associate Degree or 60 credit hours toward a 4 year degree in a related field from an accredited school and worked 3 years as a GIS Assistant or related work, OR
Must possess a 4 Year Technical Degree in a related field from an accredited school and worked 3 years as a GIS Assistant or related work, AND
2. Demonstrated ability to draw wiring and piping diagrams and layouts, etc., used in construction and maintenance using CADD software.
3. Demonstrated thorough working knowledge of electrical circuits, and equipment, piping systems and equipment, and surveying as related to his work.
4. Demonstrated a thorough knowledge of operating and maintenance practices, including procedures for restoration of service.
5. Attend and take part in monthly safety meetings and be willing and able to administer all approved methods of resuscitation and be willing and able to render practical first aid.
GIS Assistant
EXPERIENCE AND SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Must meet all qualifications of Helper GIS Assistant or one of the following:
3 Years field operations experience (Transmission Line or Substation, Distribution Line or Service, Field Metering or Storeroom), OR Completion of Entergy’s Technical Personal Development Program (TPDP) and 2 years related work experience, OR
2 Year Technical Associate Degree in a related field from an accredited school and 2 years related work experience, OR
A minimum of 60 College hours toward a 4 year degree in a related field from an accredited school and 2 years related work experience,
OR
4 Year Technical Degree in a related field from an accredited school, AND
2. Be familiar with the National Electric Safety Code and any state or local regulations affecting Company's operations as related to his work.
3. Have practical working knowledge of electrical and/or gas and/or water fundamentals.
4. Have a fair knowledge of methods of calculation used in survey work as related to GPS and/or Texas latitude and longitude system.
5. Demonstrate ability to read and understand wiring and field notes, maps, and drawings and/or piping diagrams and blueprints.
6. Attend and take part in all safety meetings and be willing and able to administer all approved methods of resuscitation and be willing and able to render practical first aid.
7. Demonstrate ability to perform equipment installation, removal, and relocate functions in AM/FM DFM and AM/FM GIS systems.
8. Maintain switch database for all switches as related to AM/FM GIS system.
9. Coordinate priority switch changes with DOC to accommodate priority switching.
10. Monitor the engineering merge process in AM/FM GIS.
11. Monitor line sections and trouble-shoot why some do not build in the Outage Management System.
12. Demonstrate ability to trouble-shoot bad predictions from OM because of data problems (mismatches, missing equipment, wrong switching, etc.).
Helper GIS Assistant
EXPERIENCE AND SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Must have one of the following:
One year field operations experience (Transmission Line or Substation, Distribution Line or Service, Field Metering, or Storeroom), OR
Completion of Entergy’s Technical Personal Development Program (TPDP), OR
2 Year Technical Associate Degree in a related field from an accredited school, OR
A minimum of 60 College hours toward a 4 year degree in a related field from an accredited school, AND
2. Be willing and able to furnish information secured from plats and records where a general knowledge of the records is required and have elementary knowledge of methods of calculations as used in survey work.
3. Within six months after employment, know Company's safety rules, and be willing and able to administer all approved methods of resuscitation, and be willing and able to render practical first aid.
4. Must maintain a valid driver’s license.
