JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE:
This senior individual contributor role sits within Entergy’s Chief Security Officer (CSO) organization and operates as a strategic second line of defense leader. You will own regulator-facing engagements, lead all SERC self‑reporting and enforcement activities, and drive enterprise audit readiness and execution for NERC Reliability Standards (both CIP and O&P). Your impact spans board‑level visibility, executive influence, and day‑to‑day collaboration across business units to advance Entergy’s reliability and security posture.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serve as Entergy’s primary liaison with regional entities and regulators, leading all self‑reporting, mitigation plans, and enforcement activities with rigor, transparency, and credibility
- Cultivate and maintain positive, collaborative relationships with regulators; become a trusted point of contact while representing Entergy’s interests professionally and credibly
- Own end‑to‑end regulatory audit preparation and execution, including defining scope, evidence strategy, SME readiness, and executive briefings to ensure high‑confidence outcomes
- Lead internal self‑assessments and self‑certifications of NERC Reliability Standards; drive corrective actions and durable remediation
- Design and continuously improve enterprise compliance strategies and control frameworks that embed NERC requirements into operational processes and culture
- Integrate information from multiple sources to provide timely, accurate reporting to internal leaders and external stakeholders
- Develop and maintain CSO dashboards, metrics, and KPIs
- Leverage analytics and visualization tools (e.g., Archer GRC, Power BI, SharePoint, Access, Excel, PowerPoint) to tell a clear, executive‑ready story communicating risk and compliance posture
- Build strong relationships across operations, IT/cyber, legal, and leadership teams; influence decisions and align priorities to meet compliance objectives
- Anticipate regulatory developments; shape Entergy’s positions and responses to changes across NERC Reliability Standards (CIP and O&P)
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum education required:
Bachelor’s Degree in a technical or business-related field or equivalent work experience
Minimum experience required:
8+ years of relevant experience leading high‑stakes, cross-functional work streams, regulatory engagements, audits, or compliance programs
Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Demonstrated mastery of NERC Reliability Standards (CIP and/or O&P) and security practices
- Exceptional writing and analytical skills; executive presence and the ability to communicate complex issues clearly to diverse audiences
- Strong interpersonal leadership with a collaborative mindset; proven success managing multiple, cross‑functional initiatives.
- Proficiency with GRC and analytics platforms (e.g., Archer GRC, Power BI) and database/automation concepts
- Advanced problem‑solving and process analysis, including root‑cause and condition assessment
Preferred experience and qualifications:
- Hands‑on experience orchestrating regulatory audits, self‑certifications, self‑reports, mitigation plans, and enforcement responses
- Cyber/physical security systems and processes aligned to CIP requirements
- Bulk electric system reliability, planning, and/or operational experience aligned to O&P requirements
